DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

Introduction

                Faculty of commerce established in June 1968 under the headship of Shri V. D. Chavan, R.T. Jadhav sir, Dr. K. P. Biradar. The major areas of studies in this faculty are Accounts and Applied Statistics, Business Economics, Business Studies and Mercantile Law. In addition to these core subjects Financial Accounting, Business Mathematics and Statistics, Business Economics, Business Communication, Fundamentals of Salesmanship, Computer for Business, Corporate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Taxation, Principles of Business Management, Corporate Law, Banking and Finance, Advanced Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, Business Regulatory Framework, Economic Development and Planning in India are other areas of study.

            To meet long standing demand of research facility in Commerce. The college started a research centre in commerce recognised by the S.R.T.M. University, Nanded in the year 2000. Dr. K. P. Biradar, the Director of the centre has successfully guided 8 students for Ph.D. degrees in Commerce. Dr. K. P. Biradar retired in July-2007. Then Dr. H. W. Kulkarni became H.O.D. and research guide of the centre. Dr. B. P. Biradar and Dr. D. B. Konale joined them. In Aug 2020 Dr. B. P. Biradar were passed away in COVID 19 pandemic. Under the Guidance of Dr. H.W. Kulkarni 8 students awarded Ph.D. degree and 5 part-time research scholars have been registered with them for their Ph.D. degree and their work is in progress, 8 students awarded M. Phil. Degree. 15 books have been Published by Dr. H.W. Kulkarni. Dr. D. B. Konale became research guide in 2021. Under the guidance of Dr. D. B. Konale 4 research scholars have been registered with them for their Ph.D. degree and their work is in progress.

The department undertakes teaching at undergraduate, post-graduate and research level in commerce. The curriculum is designed by the various Board of studies in the faculty of commerce of the SRTMU, Nanded.
